Hugh Piper edits The Policymaker. He is a geopolitical commentator and public policy professional based in Sydney. He is Director of Ancrum Advisory and has experience in the think tank sector in Australia and United Kingdom, having worked at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, the Asia-Pacific Development, Diplomacy and Defence Dialogue (AP4D), and the Australian Public Policy Institute. Prior to these roles, Hugh was a strategic policy adviser and ministerial speechwriter at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He holds degrees in public policy from the University of Oxford and law and US history from the University of Sydney.
